Senior systems analyst Christopher Rodger’s areas of expertise lie in data cleaning and analytic file preparation.
Rodger’s work has ensured data integrity on some of Mathematica’s high-profile education and health studies. His analyses conducted for the Healthy Indiana Plan Evaluation helped determine the impact of program enrollment on health status, health care utilization, and enrollees’ characteristics. A project that provides technical support to the Money Follows the Person (MFP) evaluation also assess the effects of the MFP grants on Medicaid enrollees, on states’ efforts to rebalance their long-term care systems, and on implementing system changes.
For the National Study of Charter Management Organization Effectiveness, Rodger led the data processing team responsible for cleaning test scores, demographic and attendance characteristics, and discipline records. He also supervised programmers in data cleaning and analytic file preparation for student-level test score information collected from various school districts for Mathematica’s Evaluation of Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) Schools. Rodger also coordinates and supports data cleaning and preparation of school district analysis files in the Teacher Quality Distribution and Measurement Study.
Before joining Mathematica in 2008, Rodger held analyst and senior analyst positions at Abt Associates and Lexecon and served as a technical reviewer at Structures, Consulting Engineers. His work has been published in Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research and the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice. He holds an M.I.L.R. from Cornell University.
