Kenneth N. Fortson
Senior Researcher
Kenneth Fortson is a senior researcher with expertise in the design and implementation of both experimental and nonexperimental evaluations. His work spans several topical areas, including labor, international development, and health research.
Fortson is directing a rigorous impact evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) Compact with Armenia and co-directing an evaluation of MCC's Compact with Moldova, both of which fund the rehabilitation of irrigation systems in rural areas as well as agricultural training programs.
His other current work includes evaluations of the Workforce Investment Act for the Department of Labor and adolescent pregnancy prevention approaches for the Department of Health and Human Services. He is also leading a methodological study of nonexperimental comparison group methods, funded by the Department of Education.
Fortson’s work includes publications in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Monthly Labor Review, and Computational Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University.
