Sameena SalvucciSameena Salvucci
Senior Fellow

Sameena Salvucci is a senior fellow in statistical services at Mathematica. She is also area leader of the firm’s work in substance abuse and mental health policy.

An expert in research methods, Salvucci is responsible for leading statistical design and analysis on the firm’s large-scale surveys, including work for the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Before joining Mathematica, she was director of research and statistical services at Synectics for Management Decisions, Inc., where she oversaw a large staff of statisticians, research analysts, programmers, computer systems analysts, and web designers. She has managed many statistical standards and methodology projects for the federal government, including the U.S. Bureau of the Census, ED's National Center for Education Statistics, and the Defense Manpower Data Center.

 

Salvucci also served as a technical reviewer for the Secondary Analysis Grant Program of the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of student achievement in math, reading, science, and other subjects. She has a Ph.D. in mathematical statistics from George Mason University.
