TOPIC AREAS: Democracy and Governance
We evaluating several interventions related to democracy and governance, including strengthening the rule of law, civic participation, media, and the inspectorate services of the national police.
Examples of Projects:
- Rwanda Democracy and Governance Threshold Program. Mathematica designed a rigorous evaluation of key Rwanda Threshold Program activities to determine their ultimate impact on citizens and governance institutions in Rwanda. The evaluations included a comparison group design for the national police program, pre-post surveys assessing the reach of new community radio stations created by the media program, a pairwise random selection design for the local civic participation program, and qualitative designs for several additional program components.
