The Center for Improving Research Evidence (CIRE) has three goals:

Building Capacity to Understand and Use Evidence
CIRE systematically gathers and assesses evidence on policies, programs, and practices, and synthesizes the findings for clients' decision-making needs. CIRE provides workshops and forums on understanding evidence and using it to inform decision making.

Planning Rigorous and Relevant Evaluations
CIRE helps clients design implementation, outcome, and impact evaluations that promote organizational learning about funding decisions, and it provides technical assistance to support clients' implementation of planned designs.

Strengthening Research Methods and Standards
Our highly trained and experienced staff develop new approaches for the design and analysis of rigorous implementation, outcome, and impact evaluations. CIRE also helps clients understand the evidence they have or the research they want to fund, by using transparent and scientific standards to assess the quality of study reports and plans. CIRE helps policymakers, funders, and other decision makers navigate their options, using sound science as a guide.
