Collaborating with Chile on Improving Public Policies

The Department of Education at the Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) in Chile launched "Implementa UDP," an organization to improve educational processes and related public policies by supporting high quality education research. Implementa UDP is partnering with Mathematica to collaborate on academic and business opportunities in Chile and Latin America. The organization's launch was celebrated with a seminar titled “Early Childhood Care Policies in Chile: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation” in October 2010. Lorenzo Moreno, a senior researcher at Mathematica, presented an overview of the use of institutional frameworks for regulating impact evaluations in the educational area.

Mathematica and Implementa UDP are committed to developing evaluation partnerships in Latin America and fostering exchange of personnel for meetings, seminars, and workshops.
