EDI Group: A Mathematica Company

Mathematica has completed its acquisition of EDI Group, an international research and data collection organization with extensive survey operations in East Africa and a presence in the United Kingdom. The merger, first announced in July, recently received final regulatory approvals and will allow both organizations to deliver on their shared mission of advancing data-driven decision making and improving public well-being.

Together, Mathematica and EDI will help global changemakers reimagine the way they collect and use data so that they can see clearly, act quickly, and calibrate effectively. As an independent, wholly owned subsidiary, EDI will collaborate with Mathematica to provide their partners at the country and regional levels a broader range of research and consulting services, including rigorous impact evaluations, large-scale surveys, qualitative process studies, technical assistance, implementation support, and community-based learning approaches.

Mathematica and EDI share a strong commitment to bringing high quality, objective evidence to bear on the world’s toughest social challenges. Maintaining their core cultural values, the two companies will deepen relationships with their partners and clients, combine capabilities to leverage strategic opportunities for growth, and light a path of progress around the world. In a new blog post, EDI team member Artee Gungah shares how this merger will help support global development efforts in East Africa and around the world.
