James-Burdumy Named Associate Director of Human Services Research at Mathematica

PRINCETON, N.J. (August 8, 2007)—Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., recently announced the appointment of senior researcher Susanne James-Burdumy, a resident of Robbinsville, as associate director of human services research for the firm's Princeton office. She will be responsible for mentoring and supervising researchers in education, labor, welfare, early childhood, and nutrition policy studies.

James-Burdumy joined Mathematica in 1999 after receiving her Ph.D. in economics from the Johns Hopkins University. As a senior researcher, she has been responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of key Mathematica education studies, including evaluations of student drug testing, reading comprehension interventions, and efforts to reform comprehensive high schools in the Boston public schools. She serves as a referee for a number of professional journals and has published widely in her field.
