Mathematica to Open New Office in ChicagoHarrison Greene, Jr., Expert in Large-Scale Data Collection, to Direct Office

(May 11, 2009)—Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., one of the nation's premier social policy research firms, is opening an office in Chicago, Illinois, in May. The new endeavor offers opportunities to expand our capacity in developing multidisciplinary, integrated, and rigorous solutions to some of today's most pressing social issues. Harrison Greene, Jr., formerly a senior vice president and director of Education and Child Development at the National Opinion Research Center (NORC), is joining Mathematica as a vice president, Surveys and Information Services Division (SIS), to direct the office. Greene has more than two decades of experience in managing and overseeing large-scale data collection projects. In 2006, he established the Joint Center for Education Research, a collaborative effort between NORC and the University of Chicago. He has also been a senior survey director at Abt Associates, Inc. Some of his recent major research studies include the Survey of Earned Doctorates for the National Science Foundation, the Gates Millennium Scholars Tracking and Longitudinal Study, and the National Longitudinal Evaluation of Comprehensive School Reform (for the U.S. Department of Education). He has an M.A. and A.B.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago.
