Mathematica Names Hoke Vice President
Leadership Role Oversees Research Systems, Programming Activities, and Best Practices

WASHINGTON, D.C.—February 17, 2011—Mathematica Policy Research recently announced the appointment of Ed Hoke, a resident of Washington, D.C., as vice president. In this position, he will be responsible for directing all systems and programming activities in support of human services and health research at Mathematica.

"Ed Hoke’s leadership and creativity has helped Mathematica provide the high quality research that is a hallmark of our work,” said Paul Decker, chief executive officer and president of Mathematica. “He has an outstanding track record of establishing computing standards and best practices on our most sophisticated technical projects.”

Hoke, who joined Mathematica in 1988, has extensive experience in developing systems in support of research projects. His experience includes directing large-scale research systems projects, microsimulation modeling of government assistance programs, employee benefits research and data quality control, outsourcing of information technology systems, and federal and state administrative data processing in support of research. He has directed projects for major clients including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Hoke has a B.A. in sociology from the University of Maryland.
