Mathematica Recognizes Former Senior Fellow John Love Contact: Jennifer de Vallance, (202) 484-4692 WASHINGTON, DC—April 15, 2013—Mathematica is pleased to recognize former senior fellow John M. Love, recipient of the SRCD 2013 Distinguished Contributions to Public Policy for Children award. During his tenure at Mathematica, Dr. Love led the Early Head Start National Research and Evaluation Project cross-site evaluation for 15 years. His research on the First 5 Los Angeles Universal Preschool Program contributed to the research base on the development of children who are dual language learners. Dr. Love also served on two DHHS Secretaries’ Advisory Committees on Head Start Research and Evaluation, in 1999 and 2010-2012. Dr. Love advises policymakers on early childhood topics from his home in Ashland, Oregon. Recently, he became a member of ZERO TO THREE’s board of directors. He also chairs Arizona’s First Things First National Advisory Panel on Early Childhood Research and Evaluation, has provided support to First 5 LA for its Research Advisory Committee meetings, and is working with the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust on Arizona’s Kindergarten Developmental Inventory.
