On arrival, visitors should go to the lobby, where the receptionist will notify their host. (Those traveling to the Survey Operations Center (NJ) should follow the directions at the end of this list.)
By Plane. Newark International and Philadelphia International are the closest and most convenient major airports, although JFK and LaGuardia airports are within reasonable distance. Flights may also be available to Trenton/Mercer Airport. The Princeton Airporter provides shuttle service from JFK and Newark to Princeton hotels. In addition, rental cars, taxis, and limousines are available to travel to Mathematica from these airports. From JFK and LaGuardia, Salem Transportation Company provides connections to New Jersey transportation services in Newark. Those driving to Mathematica from Philadelphia International should take I-95 and follow the prescribed car route from Philadelphia. Those driving from Newark International should take the New Jersey Turnpike and follow the prescribed car route from the northeast.
By Bus. Suburban Transit buses run daily from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York to Nassau Street in Princeton and the Clinton Avenue train station in Trenton. From either place, taxis are available to Mathematica.
By Train. From New York, Philadelphia, Newark, and other stations along the main north-south line (the Northeast Corridor) of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at Princeton Junction. From there it is only a short taxi ride to Mathematica. Other Amtrak trains, including the Washington Metroliner, stop in Trenton, where taxis are available. If you are driving to Mathematica from the Trenton train station, follow the signs to get on Route 1 north. Proceed on Route 1 north to the Alexander Road/Princeton Junction exit (approximately 7 miles) and follow the directions beginning at * in the paragraph after next.
By Car. From the northeast, take the New Jersey Turnpike south to exit 8 (NJ Route 33, Hightstown/Freehold). Bear right out of the toll area to Route 33 east (Twin Rivers/Freehold/Rt. 133 By-Pass) and follow signs leading to Rt. 133. Take Rt. 133 all the way to the end of the highway, bear right, and exit onto Rt. 571 (Princeton-Hightstown Road), following the sign that leads to Princeton. Go through six stoplights and at the seventh stoplight, turn left onto Alexander Road (between Mobil and Shell gas stations). Bear left at the "Y" intersection and turn right at the top of the hill. Cross over the bridge, go through the first light, and turn right at the second driveway into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From the northwest, take Route 22 east until it crosses into New Jersey and becomes I-78 east. Continue east to exit 17 (marked Flemington) and go south on Route 31 to I-95 north. Take I-95 north to the Route U.S. 1 north exit (exit 67). Proceed approximately 4 miles to the Alexander Road/Princeton—Princeton Junction exit. *Make a right turn at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Go through two more traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Philadelphia and points south, go north on I-95 into New Jersey. (From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, exit at U.S. Route 1 north. Proceed 6 ½ miles and follow the sign for Yardley and I-95 north.) Proceed to the U.S. Route 1 north exit (exit 67). Travel north on Route 1 to the Alexander Road/Princeton—Princeton Junction exit. Make a right turn at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Go through two more traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Northern New Jersey on Route 1 south, go to the Alexander Road, East, Princeton Junction exit which places you on Alexander Road. Go through three traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile after last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Nassau Street in Princeton (Route 27), take Washington Road (Rts. 571/526) to Route 1. Make a right onto Route 1 South and proceed to the Alexander Road, East, Princeton Junction exit which places you on Alexander Road. Go through three traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile after last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
Survey Operations Center. Follow the appropriate directions by car above to U.S. Route 1. If you are traveling north or south on Route 1, proceed to the Alexander Road/Princeton Junction exit. Go through two traffic lights (if coming from Route 1 north, make right at first light, if traveling south on Route 1, go straight at light) and look for the entrance to 707 Alexander Road on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into the 707 Alexander Road complex and continue to building 3. The main entrance to Suite 304 in on the leftmost side of building 3. There is parking in the lot in front of the building.

From Detroit Metro Airport by Car. The Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau provides a list of taxi and shuttle services available from the airport to the Ann Arbor area. The downtown Ann Arbor area is completely accessible on foot. If you stay at a hotel on campus, you can easily reach our office and all amenities on foot. If you choose to stay closer to the highways, you might consider a rental car from the airport.

Head southwest 0.4 miles. Continue straight onto Worldgateway Place 0.1 miles. Slight left toward John D. Dingell Drive 0.2 miles (signs for exit to Eureka Rd/I-275). Slight right at John D. Dingell Drive 0.5 miles. Take the Eureka Road W ramp to I-275 0.3 miles. Merge onto Eureka Road 0.9 miles. Turn right to merge onto I-275 N toward Flint 2.0 miles. Take exit 17 to merge onto I-94 W 15.0 miles. Take exit 180B to merge onto I-94-BR N/US-23 N toward Ann Arbor and continue to follow US-23 N 2.4 miles. Take exit 37B for I-94-BR/US-23-BR toward Ann Arbor 0.2 miles. Merge onto I-94 BUS N/US-23 BUS N/Washtenaw Ave. Continue to follow I-94 N/US-23 BUS N 4.1 miles, Destination will be on the left 220 East Huron Street.
Cambridge, MA 02139
On arrival, visitors should take the elevator to the 8th floor reception area.
By Plane. Logan Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. From there, it is probably easiest to reach the office by taxi or Back Bay Coach (shuttle van service—advance reservations recommended). The office is also accessible by subway: When you arrive at Logan Airport, exit your terminal at the ground transportation area. Take the Silver Line to South Station. Then follow the directions below for traveling by subway.
By Train. From New York, Philadelphia, Newark, and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at South Station in Boston. From there take the Red Line of the subway five stops to the Central Square station. Then follow the subway directions below.
By Subway. At South Station, change to the Red Line toward Alewife/Harvard Square. Go four stops to Central Square. The office is about 1/4 mile from the Central Square stop on the Red Line (see map below). Exit Central Square Station via the Massachusetts Ave. exit. When you exit the station, you will see the intersection of Prospect Street and Massachusetts Avenue. Cross the intersection toward the Leaders Bank (keeping the bank on your right). You will also pass a Bank of America and the Cambridge City Hall. The address numbers will be increasing. The office, at 955 Massachusetts Avenue, is a dark glass building on the right side of the street. Proceed to the eighth floor and turn to the left as you get off the elevator.

By Plane from O'Hare International Airport. Take Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) east to Ohio Street exit. Proceed on Ohio to State Street and turn right. Turn left at Wacker Drive. 111 East Wacker Drive will be down approximately two blocks on the right.
Directions from O’Hare International Airport
By Car. Exit airport and follow the signs to I-90 East, towards Chicago-Downtown (also known as the Kennedy Expressway). As you approach downtown, exit the Expy. at Ohio Street eastbound (toward the lake). Continue on Ohio St. to LaSalle Street and turn right to head south. Continue south on LaSalle Street and cross over the Chicago River. The first stop light after you cross the river will be Wacker Drive, turn left and proceed to head east toward the lake. Stay to the right to proceed to East Wacker Place at the fork. Go straight at the light at Michigan Ave. Once you cross over Michigan Ave., the parking garage entrance will be on your left, before you reach the entrance of the 233 N. Michigan building. The garage doors are located directly under the Public Parking sign. Allow 30-90 minutes for travel time, depending on the time of day.
By Subway. At O'Hare, follow the signs to the subway station (trains to the city). You will take the Blue line, the only train line that runs downtown. Exit the Blue line at the Clark/Lake stop, walk East four blocks to Michigan Ave. and cross over Michigan Ave. Proceed to your left (North) and walk up Michigan to Wacker Drive. Turn right, east, onto Wacker Drive. The first driveway immediately on your right is the 111. East Wacker Drive/Public Parking Garage. The building entrance is just past the garage entrance. Or, you can take a quick cab ride from the Clark/Lake train stop to 111 East Wacker Drive. Allow 60 minutes for travel time.
By Plane from Midway Airport. Take Cicero Avenue north to Stevenson Expressway (I-55) north. Exit at Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) west. Exit at Washington Street and proceed east to Michigan Avenue. Turn left and proceed north to Wacker Drive and turn right. 111 East Wacker Drive is one block on the right.
Directions from Midway Airport
By Car. Exit airport turning left (north) onto Cicero Avenue. Take Cicero Ave. to Interstate 55 Northbound (also known as the Stevenson Expressway). Stay on I-55 North until you see the signs for Route 41 North (Lake Shore Drive North), take Lake Shore Drive North. You will pass several museums and marinas. Use the 2nd from the right lane to take the Randolph Street exit toward Wacker Dr/ 1-290. Turn left onto East Randolph Street. Turn Right onto North Columbus Drive. Turn left onto East South Water Street and keep right to stay on East South Water Street. The entrance to our parking garage will be on your right, immediately following the entrance to the 233 N. Michigan Ave building and before you get to Michigan Ave. The garage doors are located directly under the Public Parking sign. Allow 30-60 minutes for travel time, depending on the time of day.
By Subway. The Midway/Orange line train takes you to State/Lake. At this point, walk approximately one block north to Wacker Drive and turn right. Continue east on Wacker Dr. which runs parallel to the Chicago River. Cross over Michigan Ave., the first entrance on your right side, after the parking garage entrance, is the 111 East Wacker Dr. building entrance. Allow approximately 60 minutes for travel time.

On arrival, visitors should take the elevator to the 8th floor.
By Plane. From the Oakland Airport, take the AirBART bus from the Oakland Airport to the Oakland Coliseum/Airport station. Board the Richmond train to 12th Street Oakland City Center station.
From the San Francisco Airport, walk or take AirTrain to the BART station in the airport. Board the Pittsburg/Bay Point bound train to 12th Street Oakland City Center station. BART maps and schedules.
By Train. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is the Bay Area's public transit system of high-speed electric trains, which connects Contra Costa, Alameda, and San Francisco counties. It is the best way to travel to the Oakland office from either Oakland or San Francisco airports. The 12th Street/City Center BART station in downtown Oakland is located adjacent to City Center. After disembarking from the train, exit the station via the 13th Street exit. This exit opens onto the City Center Lower Plaza. From this entrance, follow the directional arrows to 505 14th Street.
By Car. From the San Francisco Airport take 101N to San Francisco. Continue on I-80E. Take the Highway 580E exit toward State Highway 24/Hayward-Stockton. Take the Downtown Oakland exit onto Highway 980W. Continue to the 18th Street exit toward 14th Street. Merge onto Brush Street and turn left at 14th Street.
From the Oakland Airport, head southeast on Airport Drive and continue on 98th Avenue. Merge onto I-880 North and take a slight right at I-980E. Take exit 1A for 11th Street toward 14th Street. Merge onto Castro Street and turn right at 14th Street.
Parking. City Center Garage located beneath City Center, accessed via entrances on 14th Street between 1300 Clay Street and 505 14th Street buildings, or via 11th Street just past Clay Street, (510) 834-8282.
By Plane. Tucson International Airport is the closest airport and is 8 mi south of downtown Tucson, in Pima County, Arizona. It is the second busiest airport in Arizona, after Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Most of the more convenient accommodations will be close by the airport.
By Car or Taxi. Leaving the Tucson airport, go north on either S. Plumer Avenue or S. Tucson Blvd. for approximately 4 blocks to E. Valencia. Turn right and go 5.77 miles on E. Valencia to S. McCulloch Drive. Turn left onto S. McCulloch Dr. When you get to the first circle take your first exit onto E. Southpoint Rd. When you get to the next circle, go all the way around the circle (past the Rain Bird sign) and exit back out onto E. Southpoint Rd. The entrance to Mathematica will be on your right-hand side through an open gate that says “Employee Parking Only” and “Visitor Parking Only." The building is directly in front of you and there is a sign that says Mathematica Policy Research on the doors.
From the North (downtown Tucson), take I-10 East to Exit 267 for E. Valencia Rd. From the South, take I-10 West to Exit 267 for E. Valencia Road. Travel approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto S. McCulloch Dr. Follow the directions from S. McCulloch Dr. above.
Note: First Street, NW, in nearby; please ensure you are in the NE quadrant.

By Plane. National Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. From there, take the Yellow Line to Gallery Place/Chinatown and follow the directions below for traveling by Metro. From Dulles International Airport, the Washington Flyer provides shuttle service to the East Falls Church Metro station. From there, take the Orange Line to Metro Center and follow the directions below for traveling by Metro. In addition, rental cars and taxis are available to travel to Mathematica from these airports.
By Train. From New York, Newark, Philadelphia and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at Union Station. From there it is only a short walk or taxi ride to Mathematica. From Union Station, follow the exit signs for First St., NE. Exit onto First St. and head north five blocks. Mathematica is on the left side, on the corner of L St.
By Metro. Take the Red Line to Union Station and follow the exit signs for First St., NE. Exit onto First St. and head north five blocks. Mathematica is on the left side, on the corner of L St. You can also exit the Red Line at the NoMa-Gallaudet University Metro station, M Street exit. Mathematica is on the corner of L St. and First St., NE.
By Car. From the north, take I-95 south to the Baltimore Washington Parkway to the New York Ave. exit. Proceed to Florida Ave., NE, and turn right. Take the first left onto First St., NE. Mathematica is on the right. (Note that First St., NW, is two blocks away so be sure you are in the NE quadrant of the city.)
From the south, take I-95 north to I-395 north. Take exit 6 for I-395 north toward D St., NW/U.S. Senate/C St., SW/U.S. Capitol the House. Keep right at the fork. Turn right onto New York Ave., NW. Turn right onto First St., NE.
From the east, take Route 50 west toward Washington/I-97/Baltimore. Turn right onto Florida Ave., NE. Take the first left onto First St., NE.
From the west, take I-66 east to Independence Ave. Continue straight onto Rock Creek and Potomac Pkwy., NW, and then onto Ohio Dr., SW. Make a slight right onto Maine Ave., SW, and take the I-395 N/Southwest Freeway ramp on the left to South Capitol St. Merge onto I-395 north; take exit 6 for I-395 north toward D St., NW/U.S. Senate/C St., SW/U.S. Capitol the House. Keep right at the fork and then turn right onto New York Ave., NW. Turn right onto First St., NE.
Parking. The entrance to PMI Parking garage is on L Street, NE. The “early bird” rate is $8.00 per day before 9:00 a.m. and maximum cost is $12.00. The garage closes at 6:00 p.m. After parking, please proceed to the lobby using the garage elevator. Visitors must sign in at the security desk and show a photo ID before proceeding to Mathematica’s receptionist desk on the 12th floor.
