Webinar: Learning Together to Prevent Homelessness for Youth and Young Adults with Child Welfare Involvement
Since 2013, six diverse organizations across the country have been working to prevent homelessness among young people with child welfare histories through a grant program run by the Children’s Bureau, part of the Administration for Children and Families within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The experiences of these Youth At-Risk of Homelessness (YARH) grantees can provide invaluable lessons to federal, state, and local stakeholders working in child welfare, youth homelessness, youth development, and related fields.
The Children’s Bureau; the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation; and Mathematica hosted a webinar on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, to learn more about this multiphase grant project. Speakers covered the importance of technical assistance in addressing grantee challenges, what worked to engage young people, and what policymakers and service providers should be thinking about as they design and implement similar programs.
