Mathematica Experts to Present at American Evaluation Association Conference

Mathematica Policy Research experts will be featured this month at a major conference sponsored by the American Evaluation Association (AEA) from October 24 to 29 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The conference will include presentations from several Mathematica researchers on evaluations of programs designed to improve public well-being around the world. Featured speakers from Mathematica include:

  • Matt Sloan, director of the Center for International Policy Research and Evaluation, will discuss how to improve the design and implementation of early grade reading assessments.
  • Leslie Foster, director, Health Research; Sheila Hoag, senior researcher; and Jung Yee Kim, senior researcher, will deliver presentations on how foundations can get the most out of evaluation partnerships from program planning through completion. 
  • Arif Mamun, associate director, International Research, and senior research economist, will discuss studies of vocational training for youth in Namibia, reduction of electricity costs in Tanzania, and rapid feedback monitoring, evaluation and learning.
  • Delia Welsh, senior researcher, will serve on a panel that will discuss how to measure organizational learning and impacts from social impact investments.
