This article outlines how a home visiting intervention in Colombia, delivered at scale through partnering with existing social welfare systems, successfully increased the variety of play materials and play activities in economically disadvantaged households with young children. The study shows that 18 months of weekly one-hour home visits resulted in significant behavioral changes in care-giving practices and improved certain aspects of children's home environments. Findings highlight a promising avenue to reduce socioeconomic gaps in child development at scale.
